Dear Plant Enthusiast,

For more than 30 years, Rhapis Gardens has specialized in growing exceptional interior plants in a wide selection of sizes and varieties. Within this Web Site, you will find rare green varieties of Rhapis excelsa often called Lady Palms and Cycas revoluta known as "King Sago Palms".  We also have some handsome clay pots available as well as our own custom blended potting soil.

We once grew variegated Rhapis but they really didn't do well in our south Texas summer heat which can easily reach 100 degrees during the daytime and seldom drops below 82 at night.  For that reason, we only grow the green varieties which are quite adaptable to warm temperatures.  We have some gorgeous Rhapis excelsa in 4" to 12" pots - 12" to 36" tall.

We also once grew many different kinds of Polyscias - all relatives of the well known Ming Aralia and also grew Cissus rhombifolia, but those were phased out in 2007.

Our plants are developed and container-grown under shade to be especially suited to indoor culture and use. Many of our customers in tropical and subtropical areas find that Rhapis palms and Cycas revoluta are also outstanding patio and landscape accents.

We are known worldwide for our personal attention to each order, prompt service, fine quality foliage, and for providing an abundance of information about the plants we grow. Each plant ordered is selected, carefully packed, and shipped to arrive quickly and safely at your home or business.

Big specimen Sago Palm
Cycas revoluta, known as "Sago Palm"

Rhapis Gardens is America's largest producer and supplier of Cycas revoluta - Sago Palm seed and pups.  We hand pollinate our females each spring and start harvesting seed in late winter.  Pups (offsets) are harvested during February and March and are a fun, fast way for collectors to root them and have a large specimen in far less time than it takes to grow from seed or seedlings.

Some of our elegant Named Varieties of Rhapis excelsa can be seen at Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Kew Garden in London, Darwin Botanical Garden in Australia, Fairchild Tropical Garden in Miami, and Huntington Botanical Garden in California. We've shipped to collectors of rare and unusual plants throughout the U.S., Alaska, Israel, South America, Australia, Europe, and even delivered an 8' tall Lady Palm to a remote hunting lodge in the mountains of upstate New York.
